INDIA CREATES HISTORY AT ASIAN ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP 2017

India Started Day 4, being at the top of the Medal Tally with 20 Medals (7 Gold, 4 Silver & 9 Bronze). and now are at 25 Medals.



To everyone's surprise Archana Adhav returns with the First GOLD of the evening clocking 2:05.00 s in 800 m Finals, whereas Tintu luka failed to finish the race. Archana has also qualified for upcoming World Championships with her GOLD Medal Performance.


In 800 m Men's Final, Jinson Johnson clocked 1:50.07 to win BRONZE


In Heptathlon, after an energy sucking 7 events across 2 Days(100m Hurdles, High Jump, ShotPut, 200m, Long Jump, Javelin Throw, 800m), Swapna Barman won GOLD with 5942 pts while Purnima Hebram won BRONZE with 5798 points.

Swapna also qualifies for upcoming World Championships with her Gold Medal

India's thus registered their 24th Medal in the Championship through Purnima Hembram in Heptathlon and there by scripted history for best ever performance in Asian Athletics Championships in terms of Total Medals won.

Lakshmanan wins GOLD in Men's 10,000m and makes it 10 Gold Medals for India in the competition and 25th Medal overall. Gopi Thonakal wins SILVER in the same Event makes it 26 medals now.

B)200m Women : Home favorite Dutee Chand and Srabani Nanda can't add medals to the tally today as they clocked 23.59 s and 23.67s respectively to finish 4th & 5th in Women's 200m Final.


C)Discus Throw Women : Three Women Throwers Finished 5th,6th and 7th  


D)Women's Pole vault : Sangeeta finished last (6th).


E)Women's 10000 m : India went Medal less in Women's 10,000m. Meenu,Suriya, Sanjivani Jadhav were the participants.
