Two days ago, Sundar Singh Gurjar gave India its first ever GOLD Medal in Para World Championship and crowned to be India's first Para World Champion, and now 2nd Medal for India comes and its a SILVER.

Amit kumar had to resort to a wheelchair after suffering a car crash at age 22 which caused serious injuries to his spinal cord, leading to him becoming a quadriplegic. He used to be a national level hockey player before his accident and after joining para sports became the first quadriplegic to represent India at a Paralympic games at London in 2012.



Amit Kumar Saroha, in his career, has secured 3 medals in the Asian Para Games. A GOLD in F51 Club Throw and a SILVER in F51 Discus Throw in 2014 Incheon as well as a SILVER medal in 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. He won a Gold medal in the Olympic qualifier event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, breaking the Asian record along the way. This helped him rise to third in the world rankings, and also earned him his first Paralympic games qualification (London 2012). He has even received the prestigious Arjuna award from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India for his contribution to Indian sports, specifically in the field of Athletics, in 2013. He also secured a SILVER in IPC Athletics World Championships in 2015 in Doha.



Apart from para sports, he has appeared as a motivational speaker at elite institutions of India.
