India is involved in many sports current events, like Wrestling World Championships, Boxing Asian championships, Athletics World Championship, this week in sports, but in the biggest event of sports today, ‘Singh is King’ Vijender Singh would be looking to keep his 8-0 streak unbroken, and get hold of Maimaitiali’s WBO Oriental super middleweight title. This will be Vijender's first fight in 2017. He has not competed since successfully defending his title against Francis Cheka in December 2016.
A confident Vijender has dubbed his match as India China bout. “This is India versus China, I don’t need anything and I am excited, I know the whole of India is with me,” Vijender said at an event.
There's a lot difference between the two boxers. Vijender Singh is 31 while Zulipikar Maimaitiali is much younger at 23 and has a southpaw stance in comparison to the Indian boxer's orthodox style. But Vijender is damn confident after such enviable run in his pro career, with 7 Technical knockouts out of his 8 wins. He won WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title defeating Aussie Kerry Hope last July. He started his pro-career with a knockout win over British boxer Sonny Whiting.
