Two-three years back had anyone asked the name of 1-2 Kabaddi players in our country then most of them would have found it difficult to do so.Such was the state of this game invented in this very nation.But down the road everything has changed since the inception of Pro-Kabaddi. Not only players have become a household name in India but also they have become professionals in true sense of the term,earning in lakhs & securing their future.

    It is not that Kabaddi didn't have any infrastructure or setup before the advent of #ProKabaddi. India was the undefeated Asian Games gold medalist in all the editions since 1990 and also had all the world titles to its name.But something was missing in this glory. Kabaddi wasn't a global sport,it was being played competitively only in the subcontinent due to its traditional roots.Also there was no recognition for Kabaddi players in India because of zero live telecast,coverage and lack of professionalism.






     All that has changed for good.Kabaddi as a sport has spread like a wild fire mainly due to its reinception among not only Indians but also expatriates in countries like U.S.A,U.K,Australia,etc.The progress is evident from the last Kabaddi World Cup held in Ahmedabad where a total of 12 nations participated,Korea was able to beat superpower India and Iran managed to give a real tough fight to the hosts in the final.Although India still remains the center of Kabaddi in this world,it no longer is the lone flagbearer of the sport.Foreign Players playing in ProKabaddi like Jan Kun Lee,Mehraz Sheikh,Fazal Attrachali,etc can give some big Indian names like Anup Kumar,Rahul Chaudhari,Manjeet Chillar,Mohit Chillar,Sandeep Narwal,etc a run for their money in terms of popularity.Also the International Kabaddi Federation has set its sight on Kabaddi being inducted into Olympics by 2024 which will add a feather in cap of this amazing sport.

    What started as a 8 team journey 3years ago is set to be launched again with renewed vigour & more number of teams(12) this year.The teams have all gone a major overhaul too during this year's auction with all teams retaining just 1player.Next year ProKabaddi is going to be even bigger as 4 more teams are set to be made in this Juggernaut league already is one of the most popular leagues in India taking us to a multidimensional nation where cricket isn't the only major sport.
